Talking of her native town, I found she was from Vancouver WA, the city I visited often in connection with the Nihonga Exhibits. I quoted her email messages about the Officers Row, the venue of the Nihonga Exhibits. Yes, I remember the opening gala celebration was at Red Lion Hotel where both Dr. Inamori and then Mayor Sheidl both spoke. I'm sure Bill Everitt was there. Dr. Michael Inoue served as interpreter for Dr. Inamori. What an impressive collection of paintings! Although I was not able to attend the exhibit, our colleague, Bill Everitt, came back with a full-length book that was published to commemorate the exhibit, with one painting devoted to each page.
